Can you track macros without creating an account?
Yes, you can track protein, calories and macros without creating a new app account by keeping a food diary or using an account-free tracker, with Health as an optional place for shared nutrition data. Ironcraft provides meal-by-meal food logging without an account, with optional online food lookups and permission-based Apple Health sharing.

Compare the approaches
| Approach | Useful for | Limit or tradeoff |
|---|---|---|
| Paper diary or spreadsheet | Record portions and nutrition values without a tracker account. | You enter the values and calculate totals yourself. |
| Apple Health | Keep nutrition data shared by compatible apps in one place. | Review each app’s permissions and account requirements; Health sharing does not provide the same meal-entry workflow. |
| Ironcraft | Log food, quick-add macros, relog saved meals and set your own targets without an account. | Optional food lookups send search words or a barcode and request IP address to Open Food Facts; meal planning requires Pro. |
Start with a repeatable meal entry
Write down the portion and nutrition values you intend to record. In Ironcraft, search common foods, scan a barcode, quick-add macros or relog a saved meal; compare the entry with the portion you actually ate.
Set targets and sharing deliberately
Set your own calorie and macro targets or edit an estimate. Ironcraft can save food energy, protein, carbs, fat and water to Apple Health with your permission. Grant only the categories you want to share; logging does not establish a suitable diet for you.
Check where data goes and keep a backup
Logs stay on iPhone and Apple Watch, and the iPhone encrypts them. Optional food lookups go to Open Food Facts, whose visitor logs serve security, technical analysis and popularity measurement; check the privacy policy for retention details and limits. Export an encrypted backup from Ironcraft Settings because the publisher cannot restore your data.
Availability and languages
Ironcraft is for adults 18 and older on iPhone with iOS 18 or later; its optional Apple Watch app requires watchOS 11 or later. Available in 143 countries and regions, excluding China mainland, Russia, the EU, Iceland, Norway and the United Kingdom. The app interface is English; translated guides do not change app language or regional availability. Check your local App Store.

Do I need Pro to log protein and calories?
No. Food logging is included in the free plan. Pro adds the meal planner, recipes and grocery list.
Does no account mean the app never goes online?
No. Ironcraft’s optional food lookups send the barcode or search words and request IP address to Open Food Facts.
Can I use Apple Health without sharing every category?
Ironcraft’s Health integration requires permission. Review the categories you grant instead of assuming all nutrition and workout data must be shared.
