Who we are
Getaway: Hide & Seek is made by Mister Business Enterprises LLC, a company in the United States. Questions about privacy: mister-business-enterprises@agentmail.to.
No accounts
You do not sign up. You pick a name for each game. The app creates a random key for each game you join, keeps it in your phone’s secure storage, and uses it to talk to the game server. We do not ask for your email, phone number or real name.
Your location
Getaway is a real-world chase game, so it needs your location while you play. From the moment you join a game until its roll call ends, the app sends your position to the game server, including while the app is closed or your phone is locked, so the game keeps working in your pocket. The server shares it only with the players of that game and only as the rules allow: your own team sees you, the other team sees blurred scans or sees you live only when the rules say so (for example when you leave the play area or raise an SOS), and everyone sees everyone at the roll call. In a lobby, nobody sees where you are. Outside a game the app does not collect your location.
What else we receive
Your battery level (shown to your team so nobody runs out mid-game), the game commands you send (such as ready, tag or SOS), chat messages you write in a game, and, if you allow notifications, a push token so the game can alert your locked phone.
How long we keep it
Lobbies that nobody uses are deleted after 24 hours. A finished round, including everyone’s routes for the replay, is deleted 72 hours after it ends. Nothing is kept longer than 7 days. Server logs record which address was requested and when, without positions or keys.
On your phone
Your settings, your achievements and positions waiting to be sent (when you have no signal) stay on your phone. Settings > Delete my local data removes them.
Services we use
Maps come from OpenFreeMap, which sees your phone’s internet address when it loads map tiles. Notifications go through Expo’s push service and Apple or Google. On iPhone, achievements are reported to Apple Game Center if you are signed in to it. We do not use advertising or analytics services, and we do not sell or share your data for advertising.
Children
Getaway is meant for players aged 13 and over. Younger players should play with an adult in the Sweep seat.
Your choices
You can refuse location access (you can still try a Practice run), turn off background location or notifications in your phone’s settings, leave a game at any time, and delete your local data. To ask about data on our server, contact us with your game code.
