Ironcraft: Bodybuilding

Hevy alternative for iPhone (2026): Ironcraft and Strong compared

Hevy’s fast, free, social logging is popular (rated 4.92 from 101,232 ratings on 1 November 2026), so switch only for something it does not do. Ironcraft adds a food log and an event countdown with no account, and Strong offers a full Apple Watch app; neither has Hevy’s social feed.

What Hevy users praise and report

In the 300 positive Hevy reviews we tagged, 42% praise easy, fast logging, 31% progress tracking and seeing last session’s weights, 17% social motivation and 17% generous free features. Only 36 negative reviews since 2024 were in our sample, so treat these shares with care: bugs (47%), Apple Watch and integration sync problems (36%), and data loss or sync problems (22%).

What Hevy does better

Hevy has a social feed, friends and Gym Profiles, Strava sync, Hevy Trainer programs, lower monthly and lifetime prices than Ironcraft Pro, and a long rating history. Ironcraft has none of the social or connected features, and its yearly price is the same.

What Ironcraft adds

Ironcraft puts a food log (7,500+ common foods, barcode lookups, quick-add macros, saved meals, water) and a countdown to a show, meet, race, photo shoot or wedding next to the workout log, and keeps unlimited custom routines free. There is no account; logs stay on your iPhone and Apple Watch, and each watch set is saved on the watch before it is sent to the iPhone. CSV import from other workout apps is included.

How we checked

Mister Business Enterprises LLC makes Ironcraft, so this is a publisher-written comparison, not an independent test. Every competitor fact is per its US App Store listing on 1 November 2026, or the competitor’s own website where named. Review themes come from App Store reviews written since 2024 in the US, UK, Canada and Australia that we tagged by topic; the percentages are shares of that sample, not of all users. Ironcraft facts are from its App Store listing and version 1.0.0 (build 36). Prices are US prices and can change.

Which one to choose

  • Stay with Hevy if you train with friends on the feed, use Strava, or want the lowest monthly price.
  • Choose Ironcraft if you want food logging and an event countdown in the same app as your sets, with no account, and you do not use social features.
  • Choose Strong if you want a full Apple Watch app that logs without your iPhone, plus Cloud Sync and CSV export.
